Can microorganism on their own be considered halaal?

Microorganisms which are invisible due to their infinitesimal size, are for practical purposes as far as food is concerned, ‘non-existent’. The
question of such ‘invisible’ organisms being halaal or haraam is inapplicable and irrelevant. Such organisms which are visible, e.g. algae and mushrooms, are classified as plants, hence halaal.
