OPEN LETTER TO THE FUSSAAQ TRUSTEES OF NURUL ISLAM MUSJID OF LENASIA

Concerned Musallis of the Nurul Islam Musjid in Lenasia, which has been converted into a weird temple by the Fussaaq trustees, have issued the following Open Letter: 

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaatuh

We make Dua that Allah Ta’ala keep you all in good health and spirit.

Regarding the *donation appeal* for the *Masjid revamp* project, kindly provide us with more information regarding the following:

1) The appeal poster asserts that the Masjid was built in the 1970’s. However, it fails to mention the *subsequent revamps* carried out to date. To the best our knowledge the Masjid has undergone these revamps:

1.1) *The Masjid carpets* – Have been replaced and are in an *excellent condition, Alhamdulillah*.

1.2) *The Masjid Minaret* – Has been maintained and is *standing strong, Alhamdulillah*.

1.3) *The Masjid Wudhu Khana* – Has been renovated more than once and is *fully functional, Alhamdulillah*.

In short, the Masjid was continuously revamped since the 1970’s, Alhamdulillah. The Masjid does require a major revamp which is the impression one gets from the appeal poster.

Our Masjid is lacking when it comes to following the Sunnah. Why does half the Masjid social distance? By completely doing away with social distancing, our Masjid will become *more appealing, serene and conducive for Ibaadah*, not by extravagant and wasteful spending.

2) We would like to engage the services of a *forensic auditor* to audit the financials of the Masjid. We require your co-operation in this regard. Are you’ll prepared to play your part in *ensuring accountability and transparency*?

3) The appeal poster makes mention of  the Masjid hosting personalities from around the world. There are 195 countries in the world, *did the Masjid host personalities from more than 10 countries?* Not that we are aware of. Leave alone international scholars, we are *deprived of listening to talks from Ulama situated in Lenasia* such as Mufti AK Hoosen Saheb who are more than happy to educate us and inform us about *the reality of Shism*. Why are we being deprived?

*Lastly, but not least, why is Jummuah Salaah being read in the hall? Why are we being deprived of the great rewards of performing Jummuah in the Masjid? Did Ml Bham say it’s just one Jummuah as he said when he went in as friends of the court in a stand against those who sought legal relief to reopen the Masaajid?*
