DO NOT REMEMBER THEM ONLY WHEN THE NON-MUSLIM PRESS HIGHLIGHTS THEIR PLIGHT!

A malady of Muslims is to neglect the suffering segments of the Ummah if the suffering is not reported and highlighted by the kuffaar press. The cruel Syrian imbroglio in which a million or more Muslim mothers, sisters, children, babies and brothers are undergoing heart breaking suffering is no longer considered newsworthy by the kuffaar press. This contagious attitude of the kuffaar press has been extended to Muslims who have in general become oblivious and impervious of the hardships of the Syrian Muslim refugees.

Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “The Muslim nation is like a single person. If the eye pains, the whole body is affected, and if the head pains, the whole body is affected.”

But this is no longer the condition of Muslims. That is precisely why Muslims are squandering exorbitant and massive amounts of money in haraam avenues – weddings, jalsahs, mock umrahs, and the like.

Remember and understand well that your obligation is not to pay only Zakaat. It is your Waajib obligation to assist to the best of your affordability the suffering Muslims lying sprawled, brutalized and dehumanized in squalor and hunger. Funds are required not only for basic and essential food. There are many other needs of these refugees and for issues associated with them.

We do hope that Muslims will open up their hearts and contribute generously- very generously to gain Allah’s Pleasure which is best found in the broken hearts of His servants. In a Hadith Qudsi, Allah Ta’ala says:

“I AM BY THOSE WHOSE HEARTS ARE BROKEN.”

The Broken Heart of the Mu’min is the best Abode of Allah Ta’ala. It is holier than the Abode of the Musjid which is also Allah’s Abode.
