AN AALIM’S ADVICE

The following is a verbatim reproduction of a Naseehat by an anonymous Aalim:

In the name of ALLAAH, The Glorious & Exalted

MOBILES

… advice to its users
A learned scholar has penned down a beautiful advice which was inspired to him by ALLAAH (Subhaanahu wa Ta’aalaa). He writes,

“Do you’ll know that ALLAAH (Subhaanahu wa Ta’aalaa) had once tested the Sahaabah (radhiyallaahu ‘anhum) when they were in state of ehraam. In state of ehraam (during Hajj & ‘Umrah) hunting is forbidden. The test was in such a way that the animals were residing very close to the Sahaabah (radhiyallaahu ‘anhum). They were so close that without using any weapons they could be easily caught and taken into captive. It’s mentioned in the Holy Qur-aan,
“O you who have believed, ALLAAH will surely test you through something of the game that your hands and spears (can) reach, that ALLAAH may make evident those who fear HIM unseen. And whoever transgresses after that – for him is a painful punishment.”

(Soorah Maa-i-dah, Aayah 94)
Similarly, in our era a test like the above exists. But the style and the ways of this test differ.
WHAT AND HOW IS THAT..?

About 10-20 years ago access to porn images and pornographic videos was difficult. But today on the mobile screen (tablets) or computers on just a mere touch of a button all these things are readily available in front of our eyes. (May ALLAAH Ta’aalaa save us all from that…aameen).
Please recall what ALLAAH (Subhaanahu wa Ta’aalaa) has revealed and ponder upon it.

ALLAAH (Subhaanahu wa Ta’aalaa) wants to know which of HIS slaves fear HIM in the unseen.”
When you are alone do not get deceived by the speechless and dumb organs of your body because one day they will be given the power to speak out against us. It’s mentioned in the Holy Qur-aan,

“That day, WE will seal over their mouths; and their hands will speak to US, and their feet will testify about what they used to do.”
Yet again recall the words of ALLAAH (Subhaanahu wa Ta’aalaa) mentioned in the Holy Qur-aan,

“O you who have believed, ALLAAH will surely test you through something of the game that your hands and spears (can) reach, that ALLAAH may make evident those who fear HIM unseen. And whoever transgresses after that – for him is a painful punishment.”

COMMITTING SINS WHEN ALONE (I.E. IN LONELINESS & SOLITUDE) IS VERY DANGEROUS

One of the sage says,
“When a person is involved in a sin and at that very moment if the door curtains flutter due to wind. And due to this fluttering of curtains if that person gets fearful thinking that someone might be at the door than this fear of his is more severe (act of disobedience) than the sin he was involved in.”
Because he fears even due to a mere thought which crosses his mind that someone amongst the creation might be watching. But ALLAAH (Subhaanahu wa Ta’aalaa) (The Creator) is ever watchful over him, yet he remains fearless..!!!
Imagine the situation of that person who is watching porn and suddenly he feels someone’s on his door, what state he goes through..? His heart pops up to his mouth, his breath stops for a while & his heartbeats increase rapidly. When he shuts down his computer & opens the door only to find that it was a cat.
“O my Loving Brother ! ALLAAH (Subhaanahu wa Ta’aalaa) is still much closer, then why don’t you fear HIM..?”
THE BARRIER OF MURAAQABAH (MEDITATION)

Between a person and his mobile addiction to the porn and shameful things lies the barrier of ‘meditation on ALLAAH’ (Muraaqabah). It’s the only thing which acts as a barrier.
‘Allaamah Shinqeetee (rahimahullaah) used to say,

“All the ‘Ulamaa (scholars) agree upon that ALLAAH Ta’aalaa has not sent down on the earth any adviser and any thing that instils fear greater than the Muraaqabah (meditation) i.e “Consciousness of ALLAAH”. Thus whoever breaks that barrier of Muraaqabah has displayed utter haughtiness and showing haughtiness to ALLAAH Ta’aalaa is a very dangerous thing.”

PIOUS PERSON OF THIS AGE

Some sage has said,

“Do not be a friend of ALLAAH externally and an enemy of ALLAAH internally.”
If we say that in this age access to all the haraam (unlawful) things is much more easier when compared to previous ages. Then on the other hand we should also acknowledge that in this era by abandoning haraam we can easily gain the Pleasure of ALLAAH when compared to any other act.
AVOID COMMITTING SIN IN LONELINESS (SOLITUDE)

Do not commit any sin in the state of loneliness..! Do not involve yourself in committing a sin through a mobile or a computer especially when there is nobody in the house; because sins committed in the state of loneliness have very detrimental effect on Eemaan (Faith) and are harmful for steadfastness.
Make worship incumbent when you are alone. By this you will be able to defend your nafs from getting caught up in lust. If at all till the last breath of your life you want to be in the state of Eemaan then compulsorily make Muraaqabah i.e. `Meditation on ALLAAH’ incumbent upon yourself in loneliness.
Ibn-ul-Qayyim (rahimahullaah) says,

“Sins committed in loneliness deflect us from the path of Haqque (Truth) and through worship steadfastness is achieved.”
How much a person keeps himself chaste & clean from sins in loneliness that much ALLAAH (Subhaanahu wa Ta’aalaa) will illuminate & enlighten his loneliness in the grave.

REGARDING THE STATE OF THE DAY OF QIYAAMAH, THEN LISTEN !

Hadhrat Thaubaan (radhiyalaahu ‘anhu) has narrated that Nabi Muhammad (Sallallaahu ‘Alayhi Wasallam) said,

“I know some people of my ummah very well; who will bring good deeds equivalent to the mountains of Makkah but ALLAAH (Subhaanahu wa Ta’aalaa) will reject all their good deeds.”
Hadhrat Thaubaan (radhiyalaahu ‘anhu) enquired,

“O Rasool of ALLAAH (Sallallaahu ‘Alayhi Wasallam) ! Please inform us about some of their traits and signs so that we too in forgetfulness might not become like them.”
Rasulullah (Sallallaahu ‘Alayhi Wasallam) replied,

“Listen ! They will be your brothers. They will be of your race and progeny. They would perform (good deeds) in the night like you but when they find ALLAAH’s forbidden things whilst in the state of loneliness & solitude then they will cross all the limits.” (Ibn-e-Maajah)

MOBILE IS LIKE A SAFE LOCKER

Mobile phone is like a `Chest’ in other words ‘Safe Locker’, store good or bad things in it. Whatever you store in it, on the day of Qiyaamah you will find it present in your Book of Deeds.
O ALLAAH ! grant us such a Fear & Awe of Yours that acts as a barrier between us & Your disobedience…aameen
